Our surveyor will carry out a free inspection of the grounds before we provide a quotation to see if access is possible and to gauge the most suitable place to install your new eco septic tank, the cheapest option would ideally be situated close to your old septic tank so we can connect onto the excisting pipe work (if in working order) then leave your old tank redundant.
Please bear in mind a Lorry, a Digger, sometimes a crane and tipper truck, a Car & Trailer all require access to the site to install the new eco septic tank without any complications.
The normal duration to install a standard 6-8 person capacity septic tank is within 1 week. Roughly speaking 70% of the jobs are normal installations and 30% of jobs need extra work (if we start digging and hit bedrock we will need to hire a picker, maybe your existing pipe work needs completely replacing, (normally we can connect onto the existing pipe if it's not damaged), a surcharge for additional ground work and extra pipe work will apply if that's the case).
We will always assess the grounds and advise accordingly on site before we start excavating and let you know of any extra costs involved with extra work that may arise during the job. If your property doesn't have an existing tank we will need to install new pipe work from your house to the new tank, the position is dictacted by the pipes fall/slope we can achieve to properly drain the waste water.
After installation we will leave the site as it was before, if you require the ground to be gravelled, prices are given on request and depend on the area, depth you require.
Note ** As long as we have plenty of space to manouver our digger nothing will get damaged, If we need more space to excavate the site in a safe manner and need to transplant plants or widen a track we will do this for you. We will always notify you in advance after our initial site visit inspection if we see any issues or if there will be any cost implications.
A key benefit of installing a ready-made Eco Tank is it’s not compulsory to apply for a small works license from the Town Hall as it's not a Building job, unlike the old septic tanks that are made from concrete blocks, however we still apply for a work license incase of complaints from neighbours and noise.
Note ** If it is necessary to prepare and process a work license or responsible declaration at the the Town Hall the cost will be €700. In addition the payment of the municipal tax for that license will have to be paid for by the client or current owner. (Every Town Hall is different and their costs can vary between €30 and €150).
At Eco Septic Tanks we want to offer our clients a clean, efficient and least invasive aftercare service as possible. In the unlikely event your septic tank needs unblocking we will put you in contact with a company to resolve the issue for you.
We know that unblocking can be a complicated and somewhat cumbersome task, the company we use are equipped with the highest technologies to find out where the fault is with the use of robotic cameras. The robot travels down your toilet through the waste pipe to find out where the blockage exists then a plan of action is put in place to clear the blockage.
Our Eco Septic Tanks require an Empty & Clean up "normally" every 2-5 years (which is when the waterboard requires a "tank water test" from the outflow waters) to renew the certificate they granted after installation.
A tank water test is taken by a person from a close by laboratory in your area, this can cost between 75/95 €. This test is sent to the waterboard and afterwards the water board will issue a renewed certificate.
Some clients like to empty their tanks more frequently, maybe every 1-3 years if it’s being used often by many people or you have overloaded the tank with too much waste, oils, chemical cleaning products, etc.
The disposal of excess sludge costs around 200 €, we will recommend a company in your area for you to contact.
To extend the emptying time frame it is advised to only use eco-friendly cleaning products, and eco recycled toilet tissue. Do not flush bleach, chemicals, cement water, food, oils, paper towels, tampons, etc down your drains.
It is good practice To replenish the septic system with a beneficial bacterial population, using septic tank enzymes is the best option. They boost the beneficial bacteria count in the system and help in the degradation of organic solid waste as well.
We recommend fossas sépticas, these easy to use capsules flush down the toilet to prevent any bad odours that may arise due to lack of bacteria build up in newly installed tanks. Over time your tank will build up enough bacteria to work effectively alone.
